There’s a buzzzzzzzz on our campus Biodiversity was to be experienced firsthand on the occasion of two workshops in the last weeks at our #OneMETRO Campus. Colleagues from all entities and inquisitive kindergarten children together gathered around our four beehives which were established last September and have grown since them. Beekeeper Simon Gorski von MOLEKUEL provided a valuable opportunity to learn about, explore and appreciate the vital role that bees play in our ecosystem, as well as experiencing biodiversity first-hand. Our beekeeper was on hand to answer our colleagues' many questions in great detail, making the experience both insightful and engaging. Did you know ? 🐝 It takes bees around 100,000 flight kilometres to produce just 1 kg of honey! 🐝 The bees from our four beehives pollinate around 1.8 billion flowers each year! Here’s another fun fact: the so-called 'Kleckertracht' — a variety of beautiful flowers — gives honey its unique character, while crops like rapeseed help create its volume. To top it all off, everyone got to enjoy a tasting session of our honey — a sweet reward and a perfect reminder of the importance of protecting #biodiversity and that every initiative can have a significant #impact.
