Today is *National Choon Paan Day* in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰🥖 (Okay… not officially, but....) Today also marks the day Beethoven introduced *Für Elise* to the world — a piece of music recognised globally. But in Sri Lanka? That tune means something entirely different. It’s the sound of the **Choon Paan** — the beloved tuk-tuk bakery that brings fresh bread, buns, and pastries straight to your doorstep. Every morning and evening, these three-wheelers roll through neighbourhoods, shelves stacked with warm treats, playing that familiar melody. And the moment people hear it? They don’t think of classical music. They think: “The bread is here!” Kids run out of their homes. Parents wait by their gates. Some even chase the tuk-tuk down the road to grab their favorite pastries before it’s gone or the Tuk-Tuk is! It’s more than a delivery service — it’s part of everyday life, a shared rhythm across communities, and a small burst of joy on wheels. So maybe… just maybe… April 27 should be National Choon Paan Day 😄 Because while many Sri Lankans may not know Beethoven by name, they know that tune as the sound of fresh bread arriving at their street. #ChoonPaan #SriLanka #EverydayCulture #TukTukStories #FürElise
