“I liked the quiz best, I thought it was cool that we got buttons to press that were 3D printed. When I’m grown up, I want to be a scientist because it is a fun job!" - Alma, age 12. This is exactly the kind of excitement for STEM we aim to spark. Last Tuesday, we kicked off the 2026 Curiosity Cube™ tour at our Darmstadt site. This year, the focus is on synthetic biology, giving children a first glimpse into how science can help shape the future, from new medicines to sustainable solutions. As a solar-powered mobile science lab, the Curiosity Cube™ brings hands-on science experiences directly to schools, camps, and public spaces across Europe, North America, and Africa. Over the past 10 years, we’ve reached more than 600,000 children through initiatives / science outreach programs like Curiosity Labs™ or the Curiosity Cube™. This impact has only been possible thanks to our employees, who have volunteered nearly 200,000 hours to spark curiosity in the next generation. A big thank you to everyone involved and to all the curious young minds who remind us why this initiative matters. Want to see the Curiosity Cube™ in action?
