The most detrimental situation to detect a bug in an automated manufacturing sequence is during a running process! Our process development team creates continually new or modified recipes for automated modular plants in laboratory scale. Every change carries the risk of an error that may not be detected until the process runs in the lab, resulting in wasted resources, downtime, and rework. Together with FLEXCELERATE Solutions, the experts—including Andreas Bamberg and Anselm Klose—now test recipes in advance by means of digital twins of the physical modules. While an experimental trial is still running on the real asset, the subsequent one can be tested virtually in parallel, with the actual automation code in the loop, but without tying up real, physical resources. The approach is based on open standards and works vendor and system agnostic. This keeps us flexible in our choice of modelling tools and components, and, once created, modular models can be reused for other process configurations. Moving forward, we will use the same environment to train our staff in operating modular plants. Thanks to the team at FLEXCELERATE Solutions for the collaboration! #ProcessDevelopment #MTP #DigitalTwin #Automation #FMI Bamberg(潘安迪) Andreas Dr.-Ing. Anselm Klose
