🧡 Mercat Monday: Stories & Schools Some of our most important storytelling doesn't happen on our tours. Throughout the year, Mercat Storytellers visit local schools, sharing Edinburgh's history in ways that challenge views, spark curiosity and encourage critical thinking. Recently, our Storyteller Linda delivered a session on the Scottish Witch Trials at Portobello High School. The response from pupils and teachers was extraordinary. One pupil said, “That was one of my favourite talks ever! I will never forget that and I feel like I know so much more now and my views have been forever changed!” We believe history belongs to everyone. Sometimes that means welcoming people onto our tours. Sometimes it means taking the stories directly to them. That's what 41 years of storytelling looks like.
