Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa to deliberate on a profound shared vision of venerating the foundational medical history of Uganda and cementing the legacy of Mengo Hospital’s pioneering founder, Dr. Sir Albert Cook. At the heart of this discussion was a reflection on the deep-rooted, historical collaboration between Mengo Hospital and the Kingdom of Buganda, a partnership born over a century ago that continues to thrive and shape healthcare delivery to this day. The story of modern medicine in Uganda cannot be told without the Kingdom of Buganda at its very center. As the cradle of structured healthcare in the region, this partnership has weathered generations, remaining an enduring shield for public health.
