After many months of work, I'm really pleased to share that our RACE for 2030 report funded by AEMO is now published: Maximising Solar ROI: Advanced Diagnostics for PV Systems. As rooftop and commercial solar keeps growing across the grid, a tricky problem has emerged: when a major disturbance hits the transmission network, large numbers of PV systems can "shake off" (disconnecting all at once, and adding to the very stress the grid is trying to ride through). We set out to understand which systems trip, and why. By combining fleet-wide five-minute generation data with inverter fault logs, we analysed real disturbance events across the National Electricity Market. Huge thanks to Diagno Energy (Earl Duran, Chris Martell, Clement Meers), my colleagues at UTS (Ibrahim IBRAHIM, Jonathan R., David Roche), the support of this project Chief Investigator at UNSW (Fiacre Rougieux), and the RACE for 2030 program (through Annie Carapetian) for making this work possible. 📄 Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/gZHFb89W
