Meister Seelig & Schuster has filed a trade dress infringement lawsuit in the Southern District of New York on behalf of skincare company Bubble Beauty Inc., alleging confusingly similar packaging in the fast-growing beauty sector. The complaint asserts that competitor 1135 Skincare LLC (d/b/a Saint Crewe) copied Bubble’s signature packaging design, featuring its distinctive orange cap and pastel base, which has become closely associated with the brand since 2020. Claims include trade dress infringement, false designation of origin, and unfair competition. The MSS litigation team is led by Intellectual Property Chair and Partner Jed Ferdinand and Counsel Alexander Malbin. The case highlights the increasing importance of packaging and trade dress protection in the beauty and consumer products industries, where visual identity is a key driver of brand differentiation and consumer trust.
