Corporate Development, Clerkenwell Health
If we want psychedelics and other novel mental health treatments to have widespread impact post-approvals, we need to be thinking about and working with the NHS now. This includes creating appropriate settings, connecting with local patient populations, and giving clinicians and teams experience in providing care with these compounds. A pleasure to speak to Laura Hughes, alongside Sarah Moll and Ibreez Ajaz, with the Financial Times about Clerkenwell Health's partnership with Rotherham Doncaster & South Humber Foundation Trust to deliver clinical trials, hand in hand. Our hope is to provide a model of private/public collaborations that can support care across the country. Should these drugs be approved (potentially as soon as next year), we need to be ready. Important words from Leonie Schneider on her experiences in a psilocybin trial. If you have the chance, I'd really recommend listening to Leonie speak - there is too much knowledge and emotion to distil in an article. Thoughts from Professors David Nutt, Joanna Moncrieff and Oliver Howes on the mechanisms and evidence base. Link in comments.
