I am pleased to share that our latest research has been published in Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio). Title: Modeling and validation of residual stress in a metallic wall manufactured by direct energy deposition: a numerical and experimental study This study presents a validated three-dimensional thermo-mechanical finite element model for predicting residual stresses in SS316L thin-wall components manufactured by Direct Energy Deposition (DED). By integrating finite element simulations, X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, and Design of Experiments (DOE), we investigated the effects of key processing parameters on residual stress evolution and identified optimized processing conditions that reduced tensile residual stresses by approximately 45%. I am grateful to have contributed to this work and would like to sincerely thank my co-authors, Dr. Farnoosh Turki and Dr. Abdolhossein Jalali Aghchai, for their collaboration and valuable contributions throughout this research. 🔗 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eA3PdRQS #ScientificReports #NaturePortfolio #AdditiveManufacturing #DirectedEnergyDeposition #DED #ResidualStress #FiniteElementAnalysis #Abaqus #XRD #MaterialsScience #MechanicalEngineering #Research
