"Cornell Fleischer on the Mediterranean and the Islamic Lands", by Koç Üniversitesi Suna Kıraç Kütüphanesi. As a team member of the Management History Division - Academy of Management, my aim is to contribute expanding the division’s network and to gain fresh perspectives in historical contexts. This motivation encouraged me to witness the legacy of the esteemed University of Chicago Professor Cornell Fleischer. I would like to thank the Koc University's Suna Kıraç Library and the distinguished panelists Kaya Şahin, Ertuğrul Ökten, and Evrim Binbaş for their insightful contributions. As far as I humbly learned from the webinar, what made Professor Fleischer special was his holistic and phenomenological approach to research. His physical presence in the research fields (from Bosnia to Turkey) demonstrated his dedication to scholarship. For me, he is a treasure to be discovered. From now on, I will commemorate him by listening Josquin des Prez’s Missa La Sol Fa Re Mi while studying. 👇 What struck me also was the connection between Josquin des Prez and Cem Sultan. A relationship, I am eager to explore further.
