One moment, George was running the Cambridge Half Marathon; the next, he was experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. Healthy, active, and with no known history of cardiac illness, his story is a reminder that heart rhythm conditions can affect anyone, anywhere. Thanks to the rapid actions of some HC professionals around him and advances in medical technology, George was given a second chance. Just six months later, he crossed the finish line of the Oxford Half Marathon and today, he continues to run, hike and enjoy the active life he loves. During British Heart Week, stories like George's highlight the power of what can happen when patients, healthcare professionals, and innovation come together. They also remind us why raising awareness of heart rhythm health is so important.
