One Graduate, One Story: Sena Patacı Şimşek | IFRS & TSRS Reporting Manager / PwC Türkiye “When I started studying Business Administration at Istanbul Medipol University in 2015, I knew that I wanted to shape my career through conscious choices. My university life was not limited to academic achievements; it was a developmental journey where I took on responsibilities and actively produced and contributed. 🎓 💼 Through the events we organized within the Management and Economics Club, of which I was among the founders, I had the opportunity to engage directly with the private sector and closely explore different fields during my student years. These experiences helped me understand the dynamics of the business world early on and define my career goals more clearly. 🤝 One of the most significant turning points in my career journey was the mandatory internship I completed in my final year of university. Observing the sector from the inside, experiencing work discipline firsthand, and understanding expectations played a key role in helping me draw a more informed roadmap after graduation. Starting my career as an intern, I gradually gained multifaceted experience by taking on roles in different departments. Rather than staying confined to a single area, I adopted an approach that prioritizes continuous learning, growth, and deepening my expertise. ✨ Today, I work as a Reporting Manager within a team at PwC Türkiye that provides technical consultancy in IFRS and sustainability reporting. In this field, which brings together financial reporting and a sustainability perspective, I place the value created by an interdisciplinary approach at the center of my work. 📈🧠 Looking back, I see that my career has not followed a single linear path; instead, the experiences gained at the right time and the steps taken through conscious choices have formed a strong whole in the long run. In the coming period, I aim to further deepen my expertise and take part in high-impact projects.”
