Progress against #malaria has accelerated across the Asia Pacific, but the last mile is often the toughest, and countries are stronger when they tackle it together. This week in Bangkok, the Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN) is convening a joint Working Group meeting with national malaria control programmes from 19 countries. During the meeting, partners are aligning on the latest research and interventions to accelerate efforts against relapsing malaria, the predominant form of the disease in the region, as well as new tools becoming available for falciparum malaria. For case management, these include adult and child-friendly formulations designed to simplify treatment, improve adherence and support new approaches that could facilitate access for the hardest-to-reach populations. Whether countries still face a high burden or are approaching elimination, these exchanges allow national programmes to learn from each other’s experiences and inform the practical decisions needed to reach and sustain elimination. MMV is proud to host the APMEN Vivax Working Group and contribute to its impact in the region. #WorldMalariaDay
