Blocking the immune-system enzyme 15-PGDH protected mice across three Parkinson’s disease models from neuroinflammation, neuronal cell death and motor impairment. In one model driven by pathological α-synuclein accumulation, the benefit occurred without changing pathologically phosphorylated α-synuclein, suggesting a possible route to slow neurodegeneration through the brain’s damage and inflammatory response.
