Heart transplants are high-stakes operations, especially for pediatric patients. In a recent study from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago's, researchers used physiological and clinical data from the first 48 hours after a pediatric heart transplant to develop a prediction model that could discriminate between survival and mortality 96% of the time.
