πŸ… International Clinical Trials Day – Parma, Piazza Garibaldi Today, our Medical Genetics team, together with Prof. Antonio Percesepe, had the opportunity to take part in the International Clinical Trials Day, an initiative bringing together researchers and patients with a shared vision of making research more accessible, participatory, and patient-centered. During the event, we presented RENDER (Rare Neuropediatric Diseases Electronic Registry), a multicenter project coordinated by Fondazione Mondino IRCCS and developed in collaboration with TIGEM, University of Milan, University of Verona, and Federico II University of Naples, supported by a PNRR grant. RENDER is a secure and collaborative digital registry designed to collect and integrate remote clinical data through multidisciplinary expertise involving child neuropsychiatrists, geneticists, and bioinformaticians. Through its structured organization β€” including demographic data, neuroimaging storage, genetic data analysis, and organ-specific information β€” the project aims to improve our understanding of pediatric neurological disorders and to promote safer data sharing, better diagnostics, more personalized therapies, and ultimately a better quality of life for patients. We are especially proud to share that RENDER was recognized today as the β€œProject Closest to the Population”, acknowledging its commitment to giving visibility to rare diseases β€” conditions that are often difficult to recognize, diagnose, and understand throughout their evolution. For our team, this was a morning full of emotions. Events like this remind us that research does not end in the laboratory: it grows through dialogue, collaboration, and direct engagement with the people it is meant to serve. ✨ Science becomes stronger when it is shared. And the most meaningful research is not only about generating knowledge β€” it is about making that knowledge reach the people who need it most.
