Thanks to antiretroviral treatments, individuals with HIV are living just as long as those without HIV. But, older adults with HIV face challenges, including managing comorbid conditions like high cholesterol and dealing with the social isolation common in one’s golden years — which is often exacerbated by HIV-related stigma. How exactly these challenges shape HIV medication adherence and care engagement is the focus of MCW researcher Jennifer Walsh, PhD.
