For 27 years, The Rock 2000 has been the soundtrack to one of New Zealand's most legendary days of the year. More than just a countdown, it’s become a full-blown national event, with Kiwis across the country tuning in, on air, and in person. So, in true Rock fashion, The Morning Rumble launched a petition to make Friday 25 September - the final day of The Rock 2000 - an official public holiday, then took it straight to Prime Minister Christopher Luxon himself. More than 10,000 legends have already signed in less than a week, proving what we all know:  New Zealand is ready to make this thing official.
