Regional journalism needs to be seen. That's why Regionų balsas ("Voice of the Regions") matters to us — not only as a project we support through LIMENet, but as a chance to see up close, how editorial teams across Lithuania's regions actually work. Travelling alongside the "Laisvės TV" team, brought together by Daiva Žeimytė-Bilienė, we saw journalism done with curiosity, creativity, and genuine respect for local stories. Our first stop: Anykščiai and the "Anykšta" editorial team. The crew documented the newsroom's daily life, spoke with the editor, and looked for the stories that matter most to the local community. What stood out — at every stop, they didn't just film. They also created a small, tangible piece of content and handed it over to the local newsroom to share with the community. This is what LIMENet means to us beyond grant support: a real connection with the people building journalism in the regions, and a reminder of why their voice and their recognition matters.
