“Digital #revenue is too volatile to rely on.” That was the general sentiment about #Myanmar media in exile. People’s Spring (https://lnkd.in/dMxP7vSY ) decided to test that assumption. Founded after the 2021 #coup, the media outlet now operates entirely on digital platforms, focusing on Upper and Central Myanmar. With millions of followers and hundreds of millions of monthly views, it has turned social media into both a #distribution engine and a revenue stream. In the first three quarters of 2025, digital income covered 35% of operating costs, and by September alone, nearly half. By year’s end, self-generated revenue reached 55%, combining platform monetization, memberships, PSAs and content services. The magic wand? Rigorous #data analysis, weekly #newsroom reviews,#product experimentation and most importantly, a firm commitment to #editorial integrity over algorithm chasing.
