When the past returned to test the future, it came back not as a memory, but as a recurrence that demanded renewed precision and expertise. Years after surgery for a Giant Cell Tumour (GCT) of the distal femur, the patient presented with pain, swelling, and restricted knee movement, with disease recurrence and lung metastasis, making the case significantly more complex. At Medanta Abdur Razzaque Ansari Memorial Weavers' Hospital, Ranchi, the multidisciplinary team developed a personalised treatment plan that began with six cycles of Denosumab to control the tumour and optimise the patient for surgery, followed by limb-salvage resection with adequate oncological margins and reconstruction using a cemented megaprosthesis to restore stability and function. Early physiotherapy was initiated from post-operative day one to support recovery and mobility. Led by Dr. Ujjwal Sinha, Senior Consultant - Orthopaedics, this case reflects Medanta’s expertise in managing complex orthopaedic oncology cases through precision, planning, and coordinated rehabilitation.
