For older adults, can VIBRANT SOUNDBRIDGE be an effective hearing solution? Jang, et al. evaluated audiological, surgical, and patient-reported outcomes in older adults with bilateral sloping sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) following VSB implantation with the short process (SP) coupler. In this retrospective observational study, 45 male veterans, aged 65-85, with sloping SNHL participated. Each participant received a unilateral VSB. Results included: • No major intra or post-operative complications • 60% reduction in Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) scores • Significant improvements in patient-reported outcomes on the Speech, Spatial and Qualities of Hearing Scale (SSQ) The authors concluded, “The procedure yields meaningful high-frequency hearing gain, improved hearing-related quality of life, and significant tinnitus reduction while maintaining a favorable surgical safety profile.” Read more details of this study published in Brain Sciences here: https://lnkd.in/e4EhWs2Z #VIBRANTSOUNDBRIDGE #MedResearch #AuDPeeps #OlderAdults
