Trust in Action MEC recently delivered a concept study for an underground copper deposit in Australia, assessing mining method, cut-off grade, productivity, costs and mine life across a wide range of development pathways. Within two weeks, our team identified a potentially viable option. However, it required a production rate that differed from the client’s original view. It wasn’t the easiest message, but it was the most truthful. By putting every assumption on the table and testing scenarios quickly and objectively, we provided clear, independent advice grounded in operational experience. This gave the client confidence to make informed decisions and define a forward work plan based on evidence rather than optimism. For us, trust isn’t about being agreeable.
