Today's #humanfriday is special, as it's my birthday. What a whirlwind this last year has been, and the coming year seems to be just as full of excitement and adventure. If one lesson has come out of it, it's that I am slowly losing my hard headed idea that I can predict my future. I can certainly shape it, but even my wildest dreams have not prepared me for some of the most impactful moments I've had in recent years...Or the connections I've made, the friendships, the growth, the inspiration I've gained, even the joys...and the sadness I've experienced. I had said recently to a friend that this was feeling like my year. He corrected me, saying that I was minimizing my potential- that this was my decade! In the moment I was conflicted on that, but honestly why shouldn't I embrace that? Why shouldn't any of us? So here's to today, next week, next year, and the next decade being mine for the taking. And of course yours too! (pic is flowers one of my team members surprised me with in my hotel room yesterday on travel- again unexpected brightness and joy I couldn't predict.)
