Hello! We're Parm and Sum and we're entering our first years of medical school. We felt that a blog would be an excellent medium through which to share our experiences thus far and the adventures to come. This blog will feature ourselves, fellow medical students, physicians and other key figures in our healthcare system. As first generation students to attend a university in Canada, we hope that this blog will help to enlighten others, allowing them to gain insight on key aspects of the medical school journey and inspire them to forge their own pathway to medicine. This is not an advisory or coaching blog, merely a platform to share our (and your) stories. We would like to acknowledge the recent events that have catalyzed change, and hope to use our blog to share stories, resources, and raise awareness of critical topics related to racism and medicine. As members of an increasingly diverse profession, it's our duty to educate ourselves, recognize inequities around us and work towards ensuring the health and safety of all members of our communities.
