Lindsay Kalan has helped pioneer microbiome research in chronic wounds, contributing to some of the earliest genomic studies in diabetic patients – work that now informs how we understand infection, healing and risk of amputation.     An associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Biomedical Sciences and the associate director of the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research at McMaster University, Kalan is building a lab culture rooted in teamwork, inclusion and support, ensuring trainees feel empowered to take risks of their own.    https://lnkd.in/ddsjfXcj
