McMaster Department of Kinesiology is proud to share highlights from the 22nd annual PACE Spring Fundraiser: The Move-A-Thon, held on June 16 and 17. This year’s event was a tremendous success, bringing together participants, students, and community members. The Move-A-Thon focused on getting members moving and motivated in new ways, fostering a sense of community at PACE, raising awareness about the importance of exercise and healthy lifestyle choices, and supporting fundraising efforts. A wide range of accessible activities were offered, including: • Student-led line dancing • Move-and-WIN BINGO (with creative movement challenges!) • Educational talks on positive aging and the impact of exercise and nutrition on brain health • PACE Live at Home • PACE tours • MacStability pop-up class • Raffle table and bake sale • AND more! Together, the community raised just over $17,000 🎉 All funds raised support the delivery of safe, evidence-based exercise programming for over 550 participants living with chronic disease, physical disabilities, cancer, and age-related health concerns. We extend our sincere thanks to all participants and community sponsors for their support in making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the PACE community.
