As part of McCullough Robertson’s centenary celebrations, our Queensland State Government Industry Group were honoured to host the inaugural McCullough Robertson Public Law Oration, joined by guest speaker, Father Frank Brennan SJ AO. Father Frank Brennan is a Jesuit priest, human rights lawyer, author and longstanding advocate for reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. He delivered a thoughtful and engaging address, reflecting on his father, Sir Gerard Brennan’s contribution to public law, alongside his own experiences engaging with key legal, social and policy issues in the Queensland public square. Held on the 34th anniversary of the Mabo decision, the evening provided a timely opportunity to consider the development and ongoing relevance of public law in Queensland, and the role it continues to play in shaping conversations around justice, reconciliation, ethics and public policy. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to this memorable event.
