Grateful for these artists who are joining the conversation to honor the late Ernestine Taliaferro, a Cleveland based Black woman artist + designer; Glenville resident and a practitioner of the Bah’ai Faith. Part of the great migration from Alabama to Cleveland, Ernestine worked for the interior design company Ecker and Shane and painted on French furniture in “Orientalist” motifs. Her belief in the oneness of humanity feels like the right conversation for right now. That these four artists are placing their practices, conjoined with Ernestine’s is deeply meaningful and their work is extraordinary. ⬇️
