✈️ This doesn’t look like a milestone for aviation. But it is! A regular flight from Amsterdam to Hamburg has today taken off using a blend of synthetic kerosene produced in Europe – handled through existing infrastructure, on a standard route, with passengers on board. No special setup, no test flight. Just alternative fuel doing its job in day‑to‑day operations. Together with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, INERATEC and Hamburg Airport we enabled this passenger flight powered by a synthetic kerosene blend. From production at INERATEC’s ERA ONE Power‑to‑Liquid plant, to processing and blending by MB Energy, to refuelling in Amsterdam, the entire value chain ran under real‑world conditions. This flight proves what’s already possible: synthetic kerosene can safely power commercial aviation. But it also underlines the gap between ambition and availability – current production volumes are still far from what’s needed to meet Europe’s 2030 targets. 🛫 The technology is ready. 🛫 The value chain works. 🛫 Now we need scale. 📄 Read the full press release to learn more about the consortium, today’s flight and what it will take to bring synthetic kerosene to the mainstream.
