The French Directorate General of Armament selects MBDA and Safran to provide THUNDART, the next-generation European artillery system, intended to replace unitary rocket launcher systems currently in service with the French Army. Developed jointly with Safran - Defense, THUNDART will provide the French armed forces with a sovereign precision-strike capability, adapted to the requirements of today’s and future high-intensity conflicts. This decision marks a major step in the renewal of France’s long-range land strike capabilities, with operational entry into service expected as early by 2030. Entirely designed, developed, and produced in France, THUNDART represents the only European solution guaranteeing armed forces complete freedom of use.
