7 years in Sales. From Products → Services → SaaS. And here’s one mistake I’ve seen (and made) way too often 👇 Sending a quotation after just ONE meeting. The classic move: “Great discussion. Sharing the quote. Let me know your thoughts.” Prospect internally: “What exactly am I buying?” “Will this even solve my problem?” “Why is this so expensive?” Seen ✔️… mentally archived under ‘will revisit’ (never) We blame ghosting. But honestly… we kind of asked for it 😄 The real problem? We confuse interest with intent. A good first meeting ≠ buying readiness. It just means… they were polite and curious. And when we rush to send pricing, we unintentionally: Reduce ourselves to a number Skip the value-building phase And invite comparison with 5 other vendors who also “shared a quote” Congrats… you’re now in the Excel sheet battle. What actually changed the game for me 👇 ❌ No commercials until the prospect is confident in: The product The solution And me ✔️ Deep discovery (not checklist, actual understanding) ✔️ Clear value mapping for every rupee spent (If they can’t justify it internally, you’ve already lost) ✔️ Saying NO to unrealistic expectations (Short-term discomfort > long-term disaster) ✔️ No aggressive follow-ups (If you sound desperate, you lose leverage) ✔️ Giving space to evaluate (Not “just circling back” every 2 days 😅) One small shift that made a BIG difference: Instead of sending a quotation, I started saying: 👉 “Let me first map your requirements properly and show you how this will work for your business. Then we can talk numbers.” Funny thing? Deals didn’t slow down… They became easier to close. Sales isn’t about sending quotes fast. It’s about making the quote feel… obvious. When done right, pricing is not a discussion. It’s a formality. Curious—what’s one sales habit you changed that improved your conversion rate? Darshik Pathak Anandhu Anilkumar Darshan B.
