The artwork presents a striking figure a hybrid between a woman and a duck. Her head is covered, her eyes are blindfolded, and her mouth is sealed. She could remove them at any moment, yet she chooses not to. Dark storm clouds surround her, hinting at an approaching threat. Yet atop her head, delicate flowers bloom contrasting light and darkness, hope and uncertainty. The tension in the piece lies in contrasts: concealment vs. revelation, awareness vs. avoidance. I invites viewers to reflect: Do we always acknowledge the reality around us? Or do we sometimes choose to look away? This piece was inspired by a phrase that came to mind: "Like sitting ducks" (a saying that describes those exposed to danger without protection). I wanted to explore this concept visually through symbolism, emotions, and layers of meaning. What does this image evoke in you? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
