CEO of WRITER | Enterprise generative AI | Hiring in ML, eng, design, mktg, sales + CS
No one from my team sends me Google Docs anymore. I used to get doc links multiple times a day. I’d skim them to prep for a mtg. We'd have them up during the mtg. Now my 1:1s and team mtgs are pretty different. Most meetings now have an app. Custom dashboards, interactive prototypes, microsites – which our team builds in WRITER — that make our mtgs much more grounded in data and insights. Deciding on our post-sales hiring for Q2 — our CS opps leader had built an app that helped us edit coverage ratios in real time, highlight coverage gaps based on the decisions, gave us insights on tradeoffs. It was linked directly to Salesforce so we knew where pipeline was coming from across geos and industry groups and segment. Digging into how a partnership with a key Connector partner was going — in the meeting we got to see the customer pipeline in real time, double click into integration challenges, blockages, pending product requests, etc. We’re skipping straight to the THINKING and DECISION MAKING in the mtg. AI should bring the end of static deliverables. Tools shape thinking. A static doc trains you to think linearly. A static slide decks trains you to flatten complexity into bullets. We've been in that box for so long, we forgot it was a box. When your tools can respond to context and generate insights on demand, your thinking is no longer constrained by what you could prepare in advance. When new questions become answerable, new decisions became possible. Work is getting a lot more fun in organizations that are working like this.
