German companies abroad fail when they stop listening to local markets | 17 years | 6 countries | AHK CEO
What is Made in Germany still worth in China today? It’s definitely a value added, but not enough to justify a premium price alone. Made in Germany stands for quality but so do other products from other countries as well. What we have to do? We have to localize to match Chinese consumers needs while still keeping the added value Made in Germany stands for. Innovation, Connectivity and customer experience are the attributes which matter most for Chinese consumers, besides high quality, reliability and a competitive price. Many German companies already got that right and continue to grow by adopting to the Chinese market, others still have to and will follow. This and more we discussed today in Taicang, not only with Denis Depoux , Damian Maib, Sven O. Otten (斯文奥顿) , Dr. Gang Yang , Sen Ye and Sigrid Winkler but also more than 200 members and friends. Thank you to the government of Taicang for having us today! #innovation #china #quality #economy #sustainability #customerexperience #taicang #madeingermany #madeforchina
