💊💉 80% of the world's population resorts to traditional medicines, WHO estimates. Demand is increasing, especially in PHC, hence the need for improved regulation. Last month, I defended my Master’s dissertation 📖 on the politics of traditional medicine in India. My research project took me from Paris to Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, as well as London and Delhi. My project confirms that : 💊 Health matters cannot be addressed without social science insights, as health never boils down to mere medical factors. 💊 The belief in a universal scientific modernity based on Western standards is an illusion, and global health is actually threaded with alternative medical modernities. I will be studying the same subject for my second year of Master's, with a focus on tuberculosis. La demande est en hausse, en particulier dans la santé primaire, posant un enjeu crucial de régulation (WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025-2034). J'ai soutenu le mois dernier mon mémoire de M1 sur la politique des médecines traditionnelles en Inde. Il est le fruit d'une année de recherche m'ayant mené de Londres à Delhi, en passant par Lucknow, la capitale de l'État d'Uttar Pradesh. Ce projet confirme que :  🧠 Les défis sanitaires ne peuvent être relevés sans le concours des sciences sociales, car la santé ne se réduit jamais au médical. 🌏 L'idée d'une modernité scientifique universelle fondée sur les standards occidentaux relève de l'illusion, et le monde est en réalité parcouru de rationalités médicales alternatives. Pour mon M2 cette année, je souhaite produire un mémoire complet sur le même sujet, en m'intéressant notamment à la tuberculose.
