It’s no longer news that MAX started as a school project. However, what started as a school project has grown into something much bigger than we imagined. In the early days, the problem looked simple: connect riders/drivers to businesses that needed movement. But as we got deeper into mobility, we realized the real challenge wasn’t just efficiency. The entire system itself was fragmented, informal, and filled with loopholes that made growth difficult for the people powering it every day. That realization changed everything for us. We moved from simply building an app to building an entire mobility ecosystem designed to create structure, access, and sustainability at scale. Today, that means: • Better vehicles designed for African mobility realities • Smarter financing and credit systems • Battery swap infrastructure • Telematics, tracking, and IoT systems • Partnerships with OEMs to design vehicles for the future of movement Recently, our CEO, Adetayo Bamiduro, sat down for a truly refreshing conversation with Peace Itimi on Founders Connect, sharing the journey, the pivots, the lessons, and the thinking behind what MAX is becoming. It was a conversation about building, failing, learning, and reimagining mobility in Africa. If you’re curious about the future of mobility, entrepreneurship, EV infrastructure, or what it really takes to build for Africa, and our role in all of this, then this episode is worth your time.
