🚀 CIGRE Technical Brochure TB 988 is now available! After more than a decade of collaboration, I am very proud to see the publication of CIGRE TB 988 – “Surge and Extended Overvoltage Evaluation of HVDC Cable Systems for Testing.” This brochure reflects the collective effort of the CIGRE Joint Working Group JWG B4/B1/ C4.73, addressing one of the key challenges in today’s HVDC systems: understanding and assessing overvoltages in modern VSC-based cable systems and translating this into meaningful testing approaches. It has been a privilege to contribute to this work and to support such an important topic for the industry! A special thank you goes to the Convenor Markus Saltzer, and the Secretary Vincent Joubert for their excellent leadership and dedication in steering this group over many years.
