Some sad news from here in the Central Valley. We just lost one of the pioneering figures in the Latin rock movement - Arcelio Garcia of the legendary group MALO. Arcelio was a co-founder of the group in ‘68 and later to be joined by guitarist Jorge Santana. Together with some of the best Bay Area musicians of the time, they created the timeless hits “Suavecito” “Nena” “Cafe” and more. My band was blessed to open for the group many times, and we struck up a lasting friendship with Arcelio. A wonderful human being, mentor and inspiration to musicians everywhere. ✌🏽Rest In Peace. **2012 interview with Arcelio Garcia before their Bakersfield show: https://lnkd.in/g_r9mp6 #interview #musicjournalism #centralvalley #morelatinosinnews
