🍋🚀 Quick update on my time off so far… I’ve decided to partner in a new business. My son came home from school last week and, completely on his own, decided he wanted to run a “Lemonade & Freezie” stand this past weekend. Let’s go! 💪 This may seem silly, but I turned it into a legitimate lesson in entrepreneurship. 📍 First: Location Selection We live in the country with limited foot traffic, so we set up shop at my in-laws’ place. I explained to my son that we’d be leasing the space, so we needed to factor that into our budget. 🥤 Second: Inventory Management My son wanted to use our organic Costco freezies. The problem? At $1 each, we’d be breaking even before considering any other costs. We sourced lower-cost freezies but kept the freshly squeezed lemonade and marketed it accordingly. 📣 Third: Marketing We invited family and friends and even convinced my brother-in-law to make a quick stop with the 🚒 fire truck while he was on shift. Needless to say, that drove some traffic. 💰 Fourth: Sales Training Every lemonade customer was asked: “Would you like a freezie with that?” Classic upsell strategy. We also informed the adults that we could convert the lemonade into “Lemoncello” 🍋🍸 (with a shot of vodka) for an additional fee. That worked better than expected. 😊 Fifth: Customer Service Every customer was greeted with a warm welcome. We made sure we knew our inventory inside and out: 🍒 Cherry 🍊 Orange 🍇 Grape 📊 Sixth: Financial Review The next morning, we ran a P&L. After accounting for food costs and the aforementioned lease expense (which Grandpa negotiated down to a complimentary cup of lemonade), I’d call it a successful launch. 🎉 $77 profit in two hours. Not bad for a first-time founder. I may need to look into opening a chain of these little stands… 😉 #Entrepreneurship #StartupLife #BusinessLessons #Sales #Marketing #CustomerService #ProfitAndLoss #FutureFounder #DadLife #Leadership #SmallBusiness #GrowthMindset 🍋🚀💰
