In 2023, my son Brooklyn was matched with a 27 year old German donor who gave him the stem cells that helped save his life (last picture). In the months leading up to that match, countless friends and family members joined the Anthony Nolan register, all hoping they might be the one to help him. Fast forward to this past month, I received a call to say that I was a match for someone in need of a stem cell transplant. After a medical in London, four days of Tassia giving me G-CSF injections, and five hours connected to the 'Obi-Wan' machine, I donated my stem cells today at UCH. The Anthony Nolan and UCH staff were incredible throughout the entire process. I thank God, I was given the chance to help save a life and support this wonderful charity. Stem cells save lives.
