MGMT Boston | Top Boston Startups | Up & Coming Operators

Episode 13 of the Summer Coworking Chronicles has us closing out the summer at the AI BioHub, Part 1… The AI BioHub is a partnership between LabCentral and venture studio C10 Labs equipping early stage startups at the intersection of AI & Life Sciences with the wet lab space, advanced research tools, and AI infrastructure they need to drive innovation We caught up with Michelle Ewy & Carissa Q. from LymeAlert and Ashkan Novin, Ph.D. from SequestBio on this segment… Michelle Ewy, Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer & Carissa Qiu, BD Intern from LymeAlert share.. LymeAlert is building the world’s first at home tick test for Lyme disease. If you find a tick on yourself, your pet, your child, or your horse you can use LymeAlert to remove the tick with a crusher, add a little bit of solution and, like a COVID test, insert a test strip to tell you whether or not the tick carries the bacteria that causes Lyme disease. Knowing you’ve been exposed to get treatment quickly makes a huge difference when it comes to Lyme disease! This summer the LymeAlert built a public health campaign utilizing AI agents to amplify their voice as well as spread public awareness. They’re also creating a documentary with the Mikki Tal Group at MIT to spread more awareness about Lyme disease. The ecosystem here is amazing. Their startup spun out of Sloan and, being in this biotech ecosystem working with LabCentral and C10 Labs, has been amazing from the facilities to the brilliant minds they get to collaborate with. The LymeAlert team is really excited about linking AI with diagnostics to take the information you gather to the next level. Ashkan Novin, Ph.D. Novin, Co-Founder & CEO at SequestBio shares.. SequestBio is working on predicting and preventing cancer metastasis and recurrence with an immediate focus on breast cancer. More than 90% of cancer deaths come from metastasis. If you find a way to predict it as soon as possible, protect it and empower the surrounding tissue to stop cancer invasion and metastasis, more patients will be saved. One of the great things about building in Boston is all the new AI models that continue to come out to help with prediction and differentiation. All of the great resources & advisors here, in addition to enterprise help with Google & NVIDIA have helped their team learn a lot. The summer tour is rolling right into the fall with MGMT Boston. Thanks to Rho and Will Panarello for supporting this series!
