Social Graphic Designer Looking For Opportunities In Sports

New WNBA key art! 🏀 For this piece highlighting Kamilla Cardoso and Sydney Taylor's dominant performances for the Chicago Sky, I wanted to explore a retro-futuristic aesthetic. The creative strategy here was to merge nostalgic 8-bit gaming elements with modern, high-gloss sports design. I relied heavily on Adobe Photoshop for the digital compositing—specifically focusing on masking the pixelated cloud structures and blending the halftone dithering with the vibrant Sky blue and warm orange color palette. A fun technical challenge was balancing the glowing 3D "CHI-TOWN" typography while hand-painting the rim lighting and highlights on the athletes. I wanted to ensure they felt completely integrated into this highly stylized environment rather than just floating on top of it. Grounded the whole composition with a subtle Chicago skyline silhouette at the base to tie it all back to the city. I always enjoy finding new ways to push visual storytelling in sports graphics. What are your thoughts on blending retro pixel art with modern 3D elements? 👇 WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) WNBPA (Women’s National Basketball Players Association) Chicago Sky WNBA #SportsDesign #GraphicDesign #WNBA #ChicagoSky #AdobePhotoshop #SportsCreative #DigitalCompositing #CreativeProcess
