The rumors I heard 3 months ago put Gruns CAC above $150. It’s the main reason why they got acquired. But wait! You can’t depend on an ltv story in ecom! It’s gambling! Guess what. Buyers don’t care. They care about one thing. Does this scale? Gruns was already over $400m in ecom revenue and still acquiring customers. I’ve seen brands get no new customers no matter what they spend. So they proved they could scale. Because people love the product. Because the two numbers that matter most scale. Margin and repeat. Say it again margin and repeat. When they launched stores and showed velocities, that was the nail in the coffin. The lesson for every founder is focus on what matters. Dont worry about bootstrap vs venture. Don’t worry about first purchase profitable. Don’t worry about ai vs ugc vs static vs whatever. As the old saying goes, just win baby. Congrats to the Gruns founder and team for an epic blast off ride that should inspire many more to just win.
