Welcome to Nuclear Week! - 7 Posts, 7 Days, 7am - Where: Check-out my LinkedIn page Why: Exploring the technology, the benefits, and the challenges. Discussion is welcome. ***************************** Special Thanks: Kudos goes to the following, “Contributors to the Process” who took the time reflect on my words, and offered suggestions on one or more posts; you’ve made the experience more inclusive for everyone: • Patrick Pilon - Director of Projects, Merrick & Company • Matthew Mairinger - Past President of NAYGN, Nuclear Engineer, OPG • Doug Burton - President, DB2 Consulting • Mark Pocock - VP, Business Operations, Fermi Solutions • Michael Gabbani - Director of Fuels Sales, BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada • Salil Joshi - Sr. Engineering Manager, GE Vernova • Allan Jawarski - Technical Leader, GE Vernova • Dan Lutz - Principal Engineer, GE Vernova • Min Lee - VP Quality & Business Development, Nu-Tech Precision Metals Inc. ***************************** Intro: When I started writing my series, “In the Workplace,” it was meant to be generic; the catch-all title is purposefully vanilla, so as not to create any confusion about the content. Most of my posts are longer than the punchy lollipops being served on LinkedIn. I like candy (I really do 🍭), but I wanted something different - something that asked the reader to slow down and read, to think more about the topic at hand. The “long-format” label started to be applied, and despite a brief resistance, I’m happy now to be recognized this way. Our attention spans are getting shorter each year - in fact, over the past 20 years, we’ve gone from 2.5 minutes to about 45 seconds (look it up). So I’m out of time and will wrap up with this - I’m giving you a 7-day series that isn’t just “in the workplace” - it’s MY workplace, so to speak - the nuclear industry. We’ll look into nuclear technology, small modular reactors, AI, the future and more. It ain’t a lollipop, and it’s anything but generic. I hope you enjoy the read.
