When we launched Masterpiece Africa, we weren’t simply dreaming of producing better songs or bigger artists. We were dreaming of raising artists who would faithfully represent Christ wherever their gifts take them. This month, we witnessed a beautiful glimpse of that vision becoming reality. One of the artists in our community, Isaac Wani, better known as #Lujame, was invited by a secular artist friend to perform at a nightclub in Juba, South Sudan. Rather than seeing the invitation as a compromise, he saw it as a mission field. He performed his Christian music with conviction and excellence. After his performance, a young lady approached him with one simple request: “I want to become born again.” Lujame prayed with her, encouraged her, and the following day connected her to a local pastor in Juba to begin her journey of discipleship. This is what we mean when we say we exist to Discover, Develop, Disciple, and Deploy Christian artists. Deployment is not merely sending artists onto bigger stages. It is sending them into the world as ambassadors of Christ—wherever God opens a door. Sometimes that door is a church. Sometimes it’s a concert. And sometimes, it’s a nightclub. Our prayer is to raise artists whose influence goes beyond applause, whose platforms point people to Jesus, and whose lives make disciples. One life transformed is worth celebrating. On to the next one!
