🏰🎨📖🖌🕯 Mannerist painter and poet Agnolo di Cosimo Bronzino, 1503-1572. Michelangelo's sculptures for the Medici Mausoleum in Florence captured the attention of other artists. Bronzino made this drawing as a study of the right hand of one of those sculptures. With precision he copied the crisscross pattern of the accentuated veins and even the square thumbnail. The court painter of Cosimo de' Medici, many of Bronzino's portraits survive in various forms, as the Medici pioneered the portrait sent as a diplomatic gift. #mjsartstories #History #arthistory #HistoryofArt #dailyart #artwork #artist #arts #artwork #museumhour #inspiration #MuseumfromHome #ArtHelps #SocialDistancing #mondaythoughts #mondaymotivation #MondayMusings
