Last Thursday, we welcomed the FusioTile consortium to Marvel Fusion's headquarters in Munich and the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications (CALA) in Garching to review progress on one of fusion’s critical enabling technologies: pulse compression gratings (PCGs).   Together with partners ZEISS Microoptics, Fraunhofer IOF, Technische Universität Ilmenau and LensTec Jena GmbH, we discussed progress across design, implementation and demonstrator manufacturing. At CALA, our FusioTile experimental setup is now ready to begin calibration testing.   Why it matters: Meter-scale PCGs are essential for next-generation high-power laser systems — and a key step toward scaling laser-driven fusion.   The bigger picture: FusioTile helps bridge research and industrial manufacturing, strengthening Germany’s fusion supply chain and advancing the optical infrastructure needed to bring fusion energy to life. #MarvelFusion #FusionEnergy #LaserFusion cc: Moritz, Hartmut, Heike
