Dear linkedin/ industry friends! In case you missed. I´d like to draw your attention to the (partial) farewell article by the lively living legend Eugenio Di Maria "Gene" as chief editor at Sporting Goods Intelligence Europe (link to the as always, read- worthy article below). Gene founded EDM publications in 1989. Every day and night since, (no joke), he and his global team of journalists has served decision makers in the sports, and later also outdoor, shoe and eyewear industries with daily business news, intelligence and insights. I´ve read most of them almost since the start and know their value. In my role way back taking Haglöfs outside Scandinavia, it strongly influenced our strategy and decisions that later gave Haglöfs a global presence and an export company of the year award. 3 years ago, Gene trusted Krischan Hertle and me to take over EDM and with it, the responsibility and commitment to continue and serve industry decision makers with information to help them take better decisions. Gene, still going very strong (this week 75!) deserves to hand over the chief editor position, a big hand, a big medal for his service and a big hurray for his anniversary. Gene, we are very happy for your support to our editorial team also going forward!
